Privacy policy
Version 1.3 · July 1, 2026
Who is responsible
Recap90 (Optimtech). Privacy contact: privacidad@recap90.app.
What we store
To run the service: your email and, with Google sign-in, your profile name; your language; your favorite teams and your main team, with the history of the teams you've backed during the tournament; your trivia answers with points, difficulty and streak; your badges (achievements) and your leaderboard positions (global and per-team); and your friend-league memberships (display name and score).
Public ranking (optional, only if you turn it on): to compete on the leaderboard you choose an alias, which we store. While it's on, your alias and your trivia score are publicly visible —to anyone, also outside the app— on the global and per-team leaderboards; we never show your real name or email. The alias must not contain personal data (we validate this). You can stop appearing or change the alias anytime, and deleting your account removes your alias and it stops showing on the leaderboard.
Aggregated fan figures (public, no opt-in): we publish how many people back each team and each fanbase's collective knowledge (sums and averages of points per country). These are aggregates per team, never individual, and a fanbase only appears once it has enough followers for no one to be identifiable.
Shareable cards: the cards of your streak, a badge or your tournament “fan card” are generated on your own device from your data and are only shared if you choose to.
With your consent (banner), anonymous usage data via Firebase Analytics. If you choose “Essentials only”, it never activates.
We store no payment data (no purchases in this version). The service is not directed at children under 13.
Legal basis and purpose
Performance of the service you request (art. 6.1.b GDPR): account, personalized brief, trivia, streaks and leagues.
Consent (art. 6.1.a GDPR) for usage analytics, to appear on the public ranking with an alias (opt-in) and for personalized advertising; withdraw any of them anytime without affecting the service.
Advertising
Recap90 is ad-supported: we show Google ads on the web version (AdSense) and in the Android app (AdMob). We use no interstitial ads and we never sell your data to advertisers.
To serve and measure ads, Google may use cookies (web) or your device's advertising identifier (app). Before showing you personalized ads we will ask for your consent through a dedicated notice; if you decline, you will see non-personalized ads (based on context only, not on your activity).
Google processes this data as an independent controller. Learn how at policies.google.com/technologies/ads and manage your ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
Processors
We use Google Firebase (Google Ireland Ltd.) as data processor: authentication, database and hosting, with the database hosted in europe-west1 (Belgium). Any transfers outside the EEA rely on EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
We never sell your data. For advertising we work with Google (AdSense/AdMob), which acts as an independent controller for the data it processes to serve ads, as explained in the “Advertising” section.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account exists. Delete it yourself in Profile → “Delete my account”: your profile (including your team, fan history and badges), answers, alias and leaderboard presence, league memberships and the account itself are removed immediately and irreversibly. You can also email privacidad@recap90.app and we will do it within 30 days.
After deletion we only keep anonymous aggregates.
